Employee Spotlight: Alaina Cofield

Alaina Cofield joined Georgia Spa Company in 2021 as a Sales Clerk at the Newnan Showroom. Alaina helps customers find the best fit for their grilling needs with Big Green Eggs and Bull Outdoor Kitchens. She also assists with water care and testing for our hot tub and swim spas customers.

What is your favorite memory with Georgia Spa Company?
My favorite memory is creating a Mardi Gras TikTok with my co-worker, Catherine. It was a lot of fun, and we could not stop laughing.

Why did you want to work for Georgia Spa Company?
I wanted to work for Georgia Spa Company because when I walked in, I felt relaxed and welcome. I saw the positive energy that was given off by the employees and I told myself, "This is where I want to be."

What was your first job?
My first real job was at Zaxby's. I was a cashier and would also help out in the kitchen.

What's your favorite hot tub and why?
My favorite hot tub is the Vanguard in the Hot Spring Highlife collection. I prefer open seating, and this hot tub has two Moto Massage seats that help with back pain and relaxation.

Where do you like to vacation/travel and why?
I love to take vacations in the mountains. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Nature is a great place to take your mind off of life.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Spaghetti! This has always been my favorite meal, and I could never get sick of it.

How do you prefer to spend your time off?
I enjoy spending time with my siblings and friends, but if they are not available, I enjoy watching movies at home while I sketch or paint.

What are three things you have left on your bucket list?
I want to travel throughout Europe, take a road trip to Las Vegas, and go back to school at some point to finish my Bachelor of the Arts and Psychology degree.

What is a TV show you like to re-watch a lot?
Criminal Minds is a show that I have watched over and over, and I will probably watch it a few times again. I love the anticipation and excitement that comes with watching that show.

What is your hidden talent?
This is a strange hidden talent, but I am able to cross one eye.

What is your favorite sport and sports team?
My husband got me into wrestling. There is not a specific team for them, but I love Rhea Ripley, Rey Mysterio, and Drew McIntyre.

What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas.

What is the best advice you've ever gotten?
"Do not be afraid to be yourself."

What is something you would tell your 13-year-old self?
I would tell my younger self to not be afraid of failing, and to keep pushing forward, even if there is a lot of doubt.

What is your favorite song lyric?
"I met the man I call my dad when I was five years old. He took my mom out to a movie and for once I got to go." This is from Brad Paisley's song He Didn't Have to Be, and it's the song that I chose for the father-daughter dance at my wedding.

Have you ever won any awards?
Although I was not a teacher, just a volunteer, I won "Teacher of the Week" at a middle school in 2019. I had painted a mural in the bathroom for the students who were physically disabled.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
I would pay off my student loans debts.

If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor?
My mentor has always been my mother. She has gone through so much in her life, and has tried so hard to make sure that me and my siblings have had everything she didn't. There is a lot that I have taken from her that has helped me get to where I am today, and where I will be in 5 years.
