On Tuesday, March 9, 2020, Georgia Spa Company held its annual company-wide celebration and awards lunch at the Bethlehem Holiday Inn. President Mark Stevens and General Manager Josh Kemerling thanked all of Georgia Spa's employees for the efforts and dedication to Georgia Spa and presented them with their awards.
In order to be eligible for the Employee of the Year Award, an individual must be one of Georgia Spa's Employee of the Month winners, which are nominated and voted on by the executive management team each month. This year's Employee of the Year recipient, John Burns, has been with the company for a while now and is truly one of the most loved employees around. He's enthusiasm for the company and his co-workers has not gone unnoticed and we are thankful for his positive attitude and hard work. The 2020 Sales Team Member of the Year was none other than Mark Baker. Mark is an excellent employee and one that the company cherishes. His co-workers love working with him and learning from him as well. The 2020 Operations Team Member of the Year, delivery coordinator Christy Phillips, has a very positive attitude every day. Christy is always willing to do whatever it takes daily to get the job done. With everything going on this previous year, she worked diligently to ensure operations went as smoothly as possible. With so many dedicated employees, it's hard to single out one individual for the Outstanding Service and Dedication Team Member of the Year Award. Thankfully, the awards are voted on by employees, and this year's recipients are Brian Cowart and Merritt Athon. These two were recognized company-wide for their interaction within our team and with our customers. They both always have positive attitudes and are willing to go the extra mile for their customers. The New Sales Employee of the Year award was awarded to Ashley Hilton. Ashley's hard work has stood out to the management team and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. Ashley really knows her stuff and if you are ever lucky enough to work with her, you will be in excellent hands! The New Operations Team Member of the Year was awarded Chris Johnson. Chris has worked very hard since joining Georgia Spa Company and has stood out as a great new teammate. Two years in a row, Mike Brown has worked diligently and earned this award the Georgia Spa Leadership Award. Mike Brown, Georgia Spa's Director of Processes & Procedures, demonstrates strong leadership and helps lead our team to the next level. He is always well received by every teammate and his dedication is very much appreciated. Excellence in sales was recognized for those reaching million dollar milestones. Mark Baker (center, back) became the first sales professional at Georgia Spa to earn the Three Million Dollar Club distinction, and it was his fourth-year in a row topping the two million milestone. Cherry Durand (third from right) achieved the Two Million Dollar Club honor in 2020. Additional team members earning the Million Dollar Club distinction included Bob Ostrander (second from left), Tim Meadows (third from left), Mary Parrish (fourth from left) and Larry Cheshier (second from right).
Georgia Spa also recognized longevity achievements. Merritt Athon reached 10 years of service in 2020, and Trace McDaniel and Tanner Tedeschi reached five years of service.
