Tori Mendelsohn Named Hot Tub for a Frontline Worker Recipient

The Georgia Spa Gives Back program has named Tori Mendelsohn its Hot Tub for a Frontline Worker recipient and winner of a pink Freeflow Spas hot tub.

“We received and reviewed an incredible amount of nominations, and after a rigorous evaluation and voting process, Tori edged out some close competition,” said Mark Stevens, owner of Georgia Spa Company. “Ultimately, Tori’s dedication to her field, family and helping others led to her being selected as our Hot Tub for a Frontline Worker recipient.”

Nominees were required to be a frontline employee who provides an essential service or key public service and/or those who have been required to work through the current COVID-19 pandemic. Numerous nominations were submitted across many different fields of work, and the Georgia Gives Back Program is extremely thankful for each and every frontline worker.

Mendelsohn, a frontline worker in the healthcare industry, currently holds down two jobs while continuing her nursing education at Southern Union in Opelika, Ala. She works as a NICU Patient Care Technician at Piedmont Healthcare in Columbus, Ga., and as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, Ga.

Mendelsohn’s drive to help others goes well beyond her profession. She has logged many hours volunteering at local events such as a special needs rodeo or assisting trick-or-treaters to help boost morale at nursing homes. In 2019, after tornadoes hit in east Alabama, she spent two months volunteering with disaster clean up and warehouse management.

Undoubtedly, Mendelsohn’s display of selflessness is evident by her willingness to help bring a child into the world via surrogacy. Through Expect Miracles Surrogacy, Mendelsohn delivered a beautiful and healthy baby boy named David in May of 2019 for parents from Israel. Although tough on both the mind and body, she plans to embark on a sibling journey for the same parents to assist with completing their family.

“She has spent so many years focused on healing those around her, I think she forgets just how important she is too,” said her husband Adam Mendelsohn, who nominated Tori for the hot tub. “She would never ask for this for herself, and I know she would say that someone else probably needs it more because that is the kind of person she is, but it’s also exactly why she is so deserving of this.”

The Mendelsohn’s along with their children, Juliet (9) and Maverick (4), received their new Freeflow Spa a couple weeks later:

The Georgia Spa Gives Back program allows Georgia Spa to help others in our community. Each quarter, the Gives Back program selects a charity or cause to support with a portion of proceeds from that quarter’s sales. Hot Tub for a Frontline Worker was made possible through Georgia Spa’s third quarter sales in 2020. It is the second installment of the Georgia Spa Gives Back program’s Hot Tub for a Hero, which awarded a hot tub to a deserving military hero last year. Hot Tub for a Hero will continue again in 2021.
