Employee Spotlight: Chris Johnson

Chris Johnson joined Georgia Spa Company in June of 2020. Chris joined the team as a Delivery Crew Lead and quickly escalated into a leadership role as Delivery Supervisor. Chris found Georgia Spa Company after the doors of his last job closed and a relative of a Georgia Spa Company employee encouraged Chris to talk to the current CEO about a job in Georgia Spa Company's delivery department. His teams love working with him and appreciate all the time he puts into making the delivery operations run smoothly. Chris says he enjoys the customer relations side of his job as well as knowing that he is a part of giving our customers the ability to Bring Relaxation Home.

"In a time when there is so much going on in the world, knowing that I can give customers an outlet to relax and spend time recovering is a good feeling and all in a day's work,'' said Chris.

What is your favorite memory with Georgia Spa Company?
I have so many it's hard to pick just one. We went on a rafting trip in the summer of 2022, and it was a grand experience. I really enjoyed bonding with the entire company and watching everyone work together. I also attended a Nascar race where I watched the event from a suite provided by Georgia Spa. Overall, there have been many good experiences so far with this company, from company bonding trips to the lunch gatherings, I enjoy spending time with everyone.

What's your favorite Hot Tub?
Although they are one of our more challenging deliveries, I would still pick either the Prism or the Envoy by Hot Spring Spas. The Envoy is a good size with a full body massage with two Moto-Massage. Whereas the Prism has enough room for everyone to join in on the fun. With the Prism being the largest spa offered in the Hot Spring Limelight Collection, it has several precision directional jets and has an Adirondack-style seat with wrist, calf and foot therapy jets.

Where do you like to vacation?
I love the mountains! I used to go to the mountains in North Carolina every summer with my grandfather when I was younger. We would go bike riding, trout fishing and enjoy nature. As an adult, I enjoy it because it's time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I also enjoy going to the beach, preferably Orange Beach or Panama City Beach.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Definitely a home cooked steak with potatoes and a large glass of ice cold sweet tea.

How do you prefer to spend your time off?
With friends and family, sometimes at the lake fishing or with my daughter at the softball fields.

What are three things you have left on your bucket list?
1. I would like to go skydiving one day.
2. Visit the Holy Land.
3. Live long enough to see my daughter grow up.

What is your current song on repeat?
It's a song I just heard the other day that I really liked. The Best Part of Me by Will Dempsey. It's like the song was specifically written for me and my daughter.

What is your hidden talent?
Not a lot of people know this but I actually play the drums and have for a long time. I played the drums during middle school and some during high school. I picked it back up when I started playing for the church. I play at home sometimes, and my daughter will get up there and join me every now and then.

What is your favorite sport?
My favorite sport is baseball, and my favorite team is the Atlanta Braves. My first Atlanta Braves game was when I was younger at Turner Field with my dad and uncle. My second game ever was actually just a few weeks ago when they played the New York Mets.

What is the best advice you've ever gotten?
The grass may be greener on the other side but that doesn't mean it's not covered in crap, sometimes it's better to fertilize your own.

What is something you would tell your 13 year old self?
The sky's the limit, if you want something to work for it, don't give up and don't let anyone tell you, you can't.
