On Saturday, January 18, Georgia Spa Company held its annual company-wide celebration and awards dinner at Maggiano’s Little Italy. President Mark Stevens and General Manager Josh Kemerling thanked all of Georgia Spa’s employees for their hard work and dedication, and joined the management staff in presenting the company’s annual staff awards.
In order to be eligible for the Employee of the Year Award, an individual must be one of Georgia Spa’s Employee of the Month winners, which are nominated and voted on by the executive management team each month. Since joining our team in March fo 2015, this year’s Employee of the Year recipient, Trace McDaniel, has worked in multiple positions from operations, to valet, to service coordinator and now as a senior technician. Trace takes ownership of his role and is noticed by customers and team members on a daily basis, and he is very dependable and thorough. The 2019 Sales Team Member of the Year, Steven Bridgers, joined Georgia Spa in July of 2014, and he has continued to grow and mature into a very strong and very dependable sales professional. Steven’s sales numbers in 2019 reflect significant growth, and he has sold spas across all collections helping every customer he can Bring Relaxation Home. Working alongside one of the industries most successful sales reps, Mark Baker, Steven has turned into a sponge soaking up knowledge and skills to become one of our most successful sales professionals. In 2019, the Georgia Spa operations completed thousands of deliveries and over 5,000 service and valet calls making sure our customers received the absolute best service! The Operations Team Member of the Year, delivery coordinator Christy Phillips, has a very positive attitude every day. Christy is always willing to do whatever it takes daily to get the job done, and she provides excellent customer service. With so many dedicated employees, it’s hard to single out one individual for the Outstanding Service and Dedication Team Member of the Year Award. Thankfully, the awards are voted on by employees, and this year’s recipient, Augusta Warehouse and Delivery Manager Brian Cowart, was recognized company-wide for his interaction within our team and with our customers. Brian joined Georgia Spa in July of 2018, and he goes above and beyond on a regular basis to ensure our company is always seen in the best light and our customers are satisfied. He’s always willing to go that extra mile with his get it done attitude. The New Sales Employee of the Year is award to a new sales employee that has been with Georgia Spa Company less than 14 months and has stood out as a great new teammate. This year’s recipient, Bob Ostrander, joined the team in late May after being referred by a friend, and by the end of July, Bob had already sold 15 hot tubs. Bob has shown great willingness to be a leader on a daily basis, and everyone that works around him appreciates the positive attitude he brings to work each day. The New Operations Team Member of the Year is awarded to an employee that has been with Georgia Spa Company less than 14 months and has stood out as a great new teammate. This year’s recipient, Ben Marshall, joined Georgia Spa in July 2019 after being referred by a friend. Ben never complains, he is very easy to get along with and well respected by fellow operations team members. His attendance is perfect, he shows up daily looking very professional and has excelled in offering great customer service. Leader, Supervisor, Manager. These are not just titles of positions. These titles represent a person who takes responsibility for his or her team, not only to ensure they are doing their job, but also to make sure they are doing it efficiently, ethically and safely. The 2019 Leadership Award recipient, Mike Brown, joined our team this past year as our Director of Processes & Procedures. Mike quickly demonstrated strong leadership and is helping lead our team to the next level. He has been well received by every teammate and his dedication is very much appreciated. Additionally, excellence in sales was recognized for those reaching million dollar milestones. Mark Baker earned Two Million Dollar Club distinction for a third-year in a row, and five team members – Steven Bridgers, Cherry Durand, Chad Shafer, Mary Parrish and Alicia Carlyle earned One Million Dollar Club honors.
Georgia Spa also recognized longevity achievements. Leo Arsenault, Mark Baker, Steven Bridgers, Lisa Shafer and Keisha Shiver reached five years of service in 2019, and Josh Kemerling reached 15 years of service.
