On Saturday, February 5, 2022, Georgia Spa Company held its annual company-wide celebration and awards dinner at Ray's on the River. President Mark Stevens and General Manager Josh Kemerling thanked all of Georgia Spa's employees for the efforts and dedication to Georgia Spa and presented them with their awards.
Excellence in sales was recognized for those reaching million dollar milestones. Time of service recognition was awarded to employees reaching five and 10 year milestones. In order to be eligible for the Employee of the Year Award, an individual must be one of Georgia Spa's Employee of the Month winners, which are nominated and voted on by the executive management team each month. This year's Employee of the Year recipient, Mark "Lazarus" Baker, has been with GSC since January 2014 and is one of the top hot tub, swim spa and sauna sales people in the country.
Merritt Athon was named GSC's 2021 Service & Dedication Award recipient. It marks the third time he has received the award in the past five years. Merritt joined GSC in November of 2010 and goes above and beyond on a regular basis. He has stated many times, they want EVERY customer to have a 5-star experience with Georgia Spa. On many days you will find he is the first to arrive in the office and last to leave.
The 2021 Sales Employee of the Year award was presented to Tim Meadows. Tim joined GSC in Augusta 2019, and in 2021, he significantly increased his sales production reaching the two million dollar club! The 2021 Operations Employee of the Year recipient was assistant delivery coordinator Teresa Southern. Teresa joined GSC in March of 2021 and quickly adapted to her position. Daily you will find her assisting customers and co-workers to ensure we get products delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible. No matter the task she will find a solution that works best for both the customer and GSC. As Georgia Spa Company continues to grow, adding great new employees to our team is a constant focus. The "New" Sales Employee of the Year recipient was Jodi Martin. Jodi joined GSC in late May and was one of the top producing sales people on our team throughout the remainder of 2021.
The "New" Operations Employee of the Year award was presented to refurb technician Nick Shearer. Nick joined GSC in July of 2021 after being referred to us by a member of the Leadership Team. He quickly learned his new job and has excelled with great work, attitude and attendance. The 2021 Leadership Award was presented to Delivery Supervisor Chris Johnson. Chris joined GSC in June of 2020 as delivery crew member and quickly moved up to a crew lead and went on to earn New Operations Employee of the Year honors. He has since taken on the Delivery Supervisor role, takes responsibility for his team to make sure they are doing work efficiently, ethically and safely.
Georgia Spa Company was also recognized at the celebration dinner as the 2021 Hot Spring Territory Dealer of the Year. The honor was presented by Watkins Wellness Southeastern U.S. Sales Manager Pete Papineau.
