On
Sunday, February 4, 2024, Georgia Spa Company held its annual company-wide
celebration and awards dinner at The Georgia Club in Statham. CEO Josh Kemerling, and Executive Vice President David Baker thanked all of Georgia Spa's employees for their efforts and dedication to
Georgia Spa and presented awards in recognition of 2023 achievements.
"I have said many times, our biggest win of 2023 was becoming an Employee Owned Company," said Kemerling on Georgia Spa Company becoming an ESOP in May. "Thank you again to our founder Mark Stevens for securing the culture of Georgia Spa Company for many, many years to come."
Stevens established Georgia Spa in 2004 with its first
location in Buford, Ga. In May 2023, he announced the company was sold into an
Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving its employees ownership after 20
years at the helm. Along with the ESOP development, Stevens moved into a
well-deserved retirement but continues to serve Georgia Spa as its Board of
Directors Chairman.
Baker has been honored with a prestigious Top 10
Worldwide Sales Award by Watkins Wellness, standing tall among 900+ dealers
globally. Cherry is renowned throughout the industry for consistently
maintaining a position as one of the foremost salespersons for over 30
years.

Mark Stevens Employee of the Year: Keisha Shiver, Vendor Relations Specialist (fourth from left). To be eligible for the Employee of the Year Award, an individual must be one of our monthly Employees of the Month winners from Sales or Operations.
Baker-Durand Sales Employees of the Year: Mark Baker and Cherry Durand. This award recognizes sales leaders with extraordinary achievement, performance and contribution to the success of GSC. The award has been renamed to enshrine the names of Georgia Spa and industry leaders, Mark Baker and Cherry Durand, and both namesakes were also named co-recipients of the award in 2023. Operations Employee of the Year: Ben Marshall, Service Technician. This award recognizes an individual who is devoted to and exceptional at their work to deliver operational excellence and bring success to GSC and relaxation home to our customers.
Leadership Award: Delivery Supervisor Chris Johnson and West Retail Supervisor Christina Nicholson. This award recognizes a great teammate and a leader who possesses Selflessness, Ownership, Unity, and a Larger Purpose. They are the SOUL of our team (Credit: The Soul of a Team by Tony Dungy).Outstanding Service & Dedication: Service Supervisor Derek Bass. This award recognizes a hard-working, dedicated individual who has gone above and beyond for both Georgia Spa Company and our customers.Custom Care Award: McKinley Doman-Eisner, Delivery Coordinator. This award recognizes a sales associate or coordinator who excels in customer care. Winners of this award treat their customers with respect and kindness and build an emotional connection with them.First Class Service Award: Justin Tessman, Service Technician. This award recognizes a service or valet technician for going above and beyond the normal call of duty to ensure first class service.Bringing Relaxation Home Award: Justin Steed, Delivery Crew Lead. This award recognizes a delivery team member who excels in customer service through delivery.Behind the Scenes Key Contributor: Emily Holman, Marketing Assistant. The award recognizes a "Behind the Scenes" individual who has limited in-person customer interaction but has provided exceptional commitment and contribution to Georgia Spa, fellow employees, and our customers.New Sales Employee of the Year: Joe Brooks, Sales Professional.
